Symphony Sponsorship Program
Your Pledge of Multi-Year Support Will Keep the Music Alive
Pledge Your Ongoing Support for the Arts
When you elect to support Sedona Symphony, you’re not just funding our concerts, you’re investing in the cultural and social fabric of our shared community, enhancing the quality of life for all of its residents and visitors.
While real-time, one-time, and annual gifts are crucial to Sedona Symphony’s success, when you make a multi-year pledge, you become part of a dedicated community of music lovers and philanthropists who share a passion for preserving and promoting the arts in our city for years to come. Multi-year pledges allow us to make better and more confident plans, while directing recurring fundraising resources toward other or new prospects. Such pledges also simplify your own planning, as our partnership is framed and documented for the period of the pledge.
About Our Symphony Sponsorship Program
Our Symphony Sponsorship Program (SSP) involves three-year pledged commitments from committed donors, either for entire seasons, specific concerts, guest artists, principal player, or section players. This program is designed to ensure the financial stability, sustainability, and fulfillment of our mission. By increasing our working capital and reserves, Sedona Symphony will be able to seize opportunities that enhance the orchestra's performance quality and community impact. Specific benefit of this program to the Symphony include:
Attracting Top Talent: Securing discretionary funds to attract top-quality guest artists, increasing concert attendance and the orchestra's performance quality.
Offering Competitive Compensation: Paying attractive rates to attract and retain qualified musicians and professional administrative staff.
Empowering Collaborative Flexibility: Collaborations with other nonprofits can directly contribute to increased audience exposure and improved grant funding opportunities.
Facilitating Long-term Planning: Multi-year pledges allow us to take advantage of opportunities that require long-range planning.
Reducing Fundraising Pressures: The SSP lessens the continual pressure on the Board and staff to be constantly consumed with fundraising appeals and events, while also freeing committed SSP donors from repeated requests for additional funds.
Providing a Financial Cushion: Locked-in multi-year pledges offer a cushion in the event of unexpected financial downturns that curtail other revenue streams.
Our current SSP levels, with associated benefits, are listed below, on this page. Please contact us by clicking here to request a Symphony Sponsorship Program information packet or to learn more about this important partnership opportunity.
Planned Giving Supports Long-Term Symphony Operations
For individuals and families who wish to make legacy gifts to Sedona Symphony that are guaranteed to support their own philanthropic interests and intentions in perpetuity, planned or deferred gifts may provide the most effective ways of achieving such goals. Unlike annual giving – where a donor makes a contribution to a charity as an outlay of current assets or income – planned gifts are essentially current decisions to make future gifts, most often as part of the distribution of a donor’s estate.
As their name suggests, planned gifts do indeed require more planning than most current gifts or income or equity, often including legal and accounting counsel from a donor’s trusted advisors. Because these gifts produce philanthropic benefits to their recipient organizations, there may be benefits to the donors and/or their heirs via reductions in state and/or federal income, capital gains, estate, and/or gift taxes.
There are many ways to make planned gifts, the most simple of which are life insurance policies, designated distributions from retirement funds, or bequests, where donors designate a percentage or a specific amount of their estate to the recipient charity. (Note: Specific amounts are preferable, as they do not require a full valuation of the estate before distribution can be made). Further, for interested donors who are required to take minimum annual distributions from their Traditional or Roth Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs), funds may be directed to charitable causes, with potentially significant tax savings each year.
